Quick answer: Speedometer PRO acts as a simple trip tracker. Each trip you start and stop is saved to a history list on your phone, so you can look back at how far you went, how long it took and how fast you travelled. It needs no account, and per the Play data safety section nothing is collected or shared.
TL;DR
- Trips are saved when you stop them.
- History lives on your device.
- No account needed.
- No export listed in the current version.
What gets saved
The store screenshots show trip history alongside the Current Trip card. Each entry records the trip's basic statistics.
Why keep a trip log
A trip tracker helps you spot patterns: how long the commute really takes, whether a weekend ride is getting faster, how many miles the car covered this month. Riders of bikes without a computer use it as a basic ride log. Remember that only trips recorded in the app appear.
Trip tracker privacy
History is stored on the phone. The Google Play data safety section declares no data collection or sharing. If you delete the app, the history is likely removed with it.
What it does not do
No CSV or GPX export, no cloud sync, and no business mileage report are listed. For tax logs, use a dedicated mileage app or spreadsheet; see mileage tracking for taxes. Apps such as Speedometer Speed Box and Speedometer 55 list CSV export if you need that; see our alternatives.
Using history to spot patterns
Saved trips let you compare the same journey across days: how long the commute took, the average speed in rush hour versus off-peak, and how a new route changed things. Patterns appear after a week or two.
Storage and privacy
Trip history is stored on your device. Deleting the app removes it unless your device backs up app data.
Tidy records
Delete false starts, such as a trip started by accident in a car park, so your history stays useful.
Using your history
Look back at regular routes to see how traffic affects your average times.
Reading old trips sensibly
Compare trips on the same route. A slower average on a rainy day or in traffic is normal. If one trip shows an impossible max speed, it was probably a GPS spike.
