Quick answer: This speedometer app FAQ answers the questions people ask most about Speedometer PRO: how accurate GPS speed is, why it differs from your dashboard, how HUD mode works, how to switch MPH and KM/H, what it does with your data, how much it costs, and what it does not do yet.
TL;DR
- GPS speed is an estimate; your dashboard usually reads a little higher.
- HUD mode mirrors the display for a windshield reflection.
- Switch MPH and KM/H in the app.
- No data collected or shared, per the Play data safety section.
- No speed-limit alerts or cameras in the current version.
Accuracy
Why does the app show a lower speed than my car? Most car speedometers are built to read at or above true speed, never below; GPS often shows the true figure. See why car speedometers read high.
Why does the speed jump around? Weak signal, tall buildings and tunnels degrade the fix. See GPS speedometer accuracy.
Does it show 0 when I am stopped? It should settle near zero; small drift indoors is normal.
HUD and display
How do I use HUD mode? Turn it on, put the phone flat under the windshield at night and read the reflection. Full steps are in how to use HUD mode.
Why can't I see the HUD in daylight? A phone screen is not bright enough to reflect clearly in sun.
Can I change colours? Yes, through themes; some are Premium.
Trips and distance
What does the Current Trip card show? Duration, distance, average speed and max speed.
Where are old trips? In trip history.
Is the odometer the same as my car's? No. It only counts distance the app measured while running; see odometer vs trip meter.

Quick safety reminder
Set up the app before you move, mount the phone securely and never handle it while driving or riding.
Is the app safe to use on a bike or motorbike?
Yes, if it's in a secure handlebar mount and set up before you ride. Don't touch the phone while moving; pull over first. Check local laws on device use while riding.
Speedometer app FAQ on privacy and battery
Does it collect data? The Google Play data safety section says no data is collected or shared.
Does it drain the battery? Continuous GPS and a bright screen use power. The listing calls the app battery optimized; we still suggest a charger on long drives. See GPS battery drain.
Does it run in the background?
